Hey-o Sam.
I’m not from the states, so I look at the problems that America is facing from an outside perspective. As you say, the government should NOT be looking forward, at least not until they’ve fixed the large amounts of shit pooling at their feet from the previous regime. A few months ago, I would have scoffed at the idea of revolution, however, seeing how close Greece has come to civil war and an overthrow of government, I’d say that if things keep going downhill for the states it might be a possibility. Anyway, all this might be all over the place, but yea, the government should fix itself up before tackling the economic, employment and housing issues facing America.

@Kidna: Well, believe it or not, ETD will touching on a lot of larger, darker questions in the coming chapters. I know it’s hard to believe with the big wangosaurus running around and Jack screaming like a girl, but it’s happening.

That’s funny: that’s pretty much what statement a lotta people have started to say. Fact is that we are running a close loop. The word is a system, no matter from which scope you look at it. You need a sink and a source. But there is no infinite source hence, things couldn’t go on forever. Either the source get depleted or the drain would get jammed. Note that most of the time, the first statement will be prior and sole, causing the system to fail. That’s what is happening right now on a global scale. I hope no violence for the future but, we are obviously going that way.

I used to think I was born to be a revolutionary. I have all the characteristics and history to make it so. Now I’m a philosophy major, and in my short time on earth I have learned this: the only things that are intrinsically good or bad, are the things that relate to our most primal instincts. It’s hard to view the death of a child as something positive, just as birth is a positive occurance, because we are human. These sorts of things. Everything else has as many positive sides as it has negative. The only judgements we may make stem from the fact that we are limited to only one viewpoint at a time.

The implication is very simple. Whatever system is in place, it will have as many positive as negative aspects. For this reason, I can never bring myself to support a revolution. My blood is young and it boils, but there are other ways to express this. Why bring instability and suffering to others? Justice is done every day as it is. We just don’t think things through enough to see this.

Another thing I learned: it’s easy to sit and philosophize on a full stomach.
