Site Improvements and ETD Book

Heads up everyone. The site’s undergoing GUI improvements in the coming days to help usher in the new store and products to come. It’s been a long time coming. The prepress on the ETD book was hell, but I’m about to wrap it up and both the store and the new ETD book will be up sometime this weekend.

Crit/Remake Open Thread

As some of you may already know, I’m planning a remake of the earlier chapters. I have a rough idea as to what to do, but I’m sure some of you have questions or even suggestions about what may or may not be clear in the storyline. A lot of streamlining is to take place and I’d like to know what it is that you’d like to have explained better or if things remain unclear that really shouldn’t at this point in the storyline. Again, everyone is encouraged to register and post comments. I’m not doing this on the shoutbox as you can’t really use it as a point of reference and detailed responses are impractical on that thing. Also, anyone wanting tidbits on the remake can probably get some hints out of me if I’m indulged. (e.g. RG’s debut will be different…)

So much to do, so little time…

~~Writing up a detailed reportback on the con.~~
~~Finalizing a much better banner and background.~~
Setting up a forum, store, and archive page (many thanks to Frumph!)
Setting up the new ETD book and related merchandise.
Actually getting around to doing free wallpapers of all our major characters
Getting up the character descriptions on the cast page
The About page needs stuff
The comic navigation needs work too.
Phase out the old Comicgenesis site. (end of an era…)

Next up should be modding the navigation and setting up hotlinks to chapters in a dropdown. The Comicgen site will be tossed once the nav’s up to par. Nav will be taken care of on the weekend.

Apologies for being away for several days. I really should invest in a laptop. Anyways, I just finished catching up on the suggestions thread and here’s what’s on my agenda so far.

Wednesday’s update, first and foremost of course.
Writing up a detailed reportback on the con.
Finalizing a much better banner and background.
Setting up a forum, store, and archive page (many thanks to Frumph!)
Setting up the new ETD book and related merchandise.

Suggestion for New ETD Site Thread

Anyone heading over from my old Comicgenesis site, please register and post suggestions or recommendations for the new website, apart from the empty links and the “Pimptalk” placeholder! ^^; Send me an email if you have any problems.

UPDATE: If you want an avatar for your comments, after you’re done with registration, head over to gravatar and upload a universal avatar. Follow all the instructions, wait a few minutes then reload the comments. All should be good.

UPDATE 2: Your initial comment will require approval, but afterwards, it looks like all posts after show up after you’re verified by my blog as a subscriber.

UPDATE 3: New subscribers registering comments for the first time here will see a slight delay in comment approval as I’m the sole admin around here and I’m attending a con in Boston, so I’ll have limited access to the net. I’ve toned down the background colors a bit, but any complaints about it can be directed to this thread, though it might take a while for direct responses. And special thanks to everyone who’s taken the effort to register on the new blog and set up their avatars.
